Water vapor vertical distribution on Mars during perihelion season of MY 34 and MY 35 with ExoMars‐TGO/NOMAD observations

The water vapor in the Martian atmosphere plays a significant role planet’s climate, being crucial most of chemical and radiative transfer processes. Despite its importance, vertical distribution H2O has not still been characterized precisely enough. recent ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) mission, with Nadir Occultation for MArs Discovery (NOMAD) instrument, allowed us to measure unprecedented resolution. Recent studies profiles have shown that high dust concentration atmosphere, particular during storms, induces an efficient transport higher altitudes, from 40 km up 80 km. We study subset solar occultations perihelion two years (MYs), including 2018 Global Dust Storm (GDS), order compare same season under GDS non-GDS conditions. present our state-of-the-art retrieval scheme, we apply it combination diffraction orders, which permits sounding about 100 confirm findings increasing at altitudes Ls = 190-205° MY 34, reaching abundances 150 ppmv both hemispheres found period 35. hygropause’s steep rising 30 Furthermore, strong supersaturation events identified mesospheric even presence ice layers retrieved by IAA team.
